Swae Lee is officially stepping into his own spotlight. The Rae Sremmurd standout has launched the first chapter of his long-awaited solo debut, Same Difference, with the release of his new single “Flammable”. While he initially revealed the album title on February 23, a release date for the project has yet to be announced.

Lee previously delivered a solo disc as part of Rae Sremmurd’s 2018 triple project SR3MM, but Same Difference will mark his first fully standalone album rollout.  The track “Flammable”, with production by Rosen Beatz (known for work alongside Young Thug) blends sweeping, high-energy elements with modern Atlanta trap textures.

The new music from Lee also arrives just ahead of his return to the Coachella stage, and during a renewed wave of interest in Rae Sremmurd’s catalog. Last June, the duo’s 2016 smash “Black Beatles” achieved diamond certification after previously spending seven weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. Rae Sremmurd’s music has also enjoyed a resurgence of late, thanks to social media nostalgia for the mid-2010s era they helped define.

The video for “Flammable,” directed by Logan Meis, is set against a Southern backdrop. The clip features Swae cruising through bayou waters on a fanboat and wielding a flamethrower, nodding to his roots with a loose, celebratory vibe. See the video for ‘FLAMMABLE’ – HERE.
